Trauma expression and connection assessment (TECA)

Course Outline

Children and young people who have experienced trauma often communicate their distress through behaviour. What might look like aggression, withdrawal, or avoidance is often a nervous system response to feeling unsafe.

The TECA e-learning course introduces a practical tool—the Trauma Expression and Connection Assessment—to help adults better understand and respond to these trauma expressions. Grounded in relational and trauma-responsive practice, this course helps you support emotional safety, connection, and healing for the children in your care.
