Introduction
Children and young people in out-of-home care are navigating a digital world shaped by connection, creativity—and risk. For those with trauma histories, online spaces can offer belonging, but also bring unique vulnerabilities. This two-hour workshop is designed to equip practitioners and carers with the knowledge, tools and confidence to support young people's online safety in trauma-aware and relationship-based ways.
Drawing on the Safe and Connected practice guide, participants will explore key risks such as grooming, image-based abuse, and online financial exploitation, while learning how to respond with empathy, insight and practical action. The session will also unpack how to use of planning tools to tailor support to each child’s needs and strengths.
