OUR TRAINING
Bringing Up Great Kids: In the first 1000 days

Introduction

Bringing Up Great Kids (BUGK): In the first 1000 days is a mindful, respectful and reflective program that enables expectant and new parents to go on their own parenting journey in a non-judgemental safe space. BUGK: In the first 1000 days promotes positive and nurturing relationships between all adults involved in the pregnancy and care of the new baby/young child.

This training provides participants with the opportunity to focus on developing their knowledge and skills to support parents during the pre-natal period and first two years of their child's life - the first thousand days.

Please note that the prerequisite for this training is successful completion of Bringing Up Great Kids: Facilitator training.

BUGK: In the first 1000 days builds on the principles of the foundational BUGK program focussing on being reflective, respectful and mindful when working with parents.

Participants will have new knowledge about brain development in the unborn baby and how the brain keeps developing after birth in connection with the adults caring for the baby and young child.

Participants will be able to support expectant parents to connect with each other and their unborn and new baby through different ways, including communication both verbally and through touch.

Participants will have a more comprehensive understanding of the changes and needs of infants in the first 1000 days and be able to incorporate this knowledge into everyday practice.
