Introduction
Bringing Up Great Kids (BUGK): Parenting after family violence is a mindful reflective program that offers support to those impacted by family violence to explore and reclaim their confidence and belief in themselves about their parenting which may have been affected by experiences of threat and violence.
This experiential workshop will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to facilitate a parent group with survivors of family violence in a safe, respectful and reflective space. This session will work through the variety of tailored materials and resources that have been specifically developed for this program.
Please note that the prerequisite for this training is successful completion of of Bringing Up Great Kids: Facilitator training.
In the aftermath of family violence, survivors experience a range of challenges that can affect their parenting. They can lose confidence in their parenting, making it difficult to meet the needs of their children. They can experience a gulf between themselves and their children, feeling the absence of connection and trust.
This program empowers parents to have confidence in their parenting and supports reconnection with their children.
This workshop will provide professionals with the skills and knowledge to support those impacted by family violence in relation to enhancing their relationships with their children.
Our BUGK: Parenting program presents parents with access to knowledge about development, connection with others and an opportunity to reflect on their communication with children. This workshop will provide you with specific skills and knowledge to support survivors of family violence in relation to enhancing their relationship.

About the facilitator
This training is delivered by experienced professional trainers who are well informed in relation to trauma informed intervention and practice. They have a strong understanding of trauma and its impact on children and families and are able to translate this knowledge into practice in a range of professional contexts. A focus on application to practice via discussion and strategy is always an important component of the workshops.Other information

Target Audience
This training is suitable for all professionals who have completed BUGK Foundation training and who provide a parenting program that sensitively supports those impacted by family violence.
