The initial workshops to be delivered are Trauma Transformative Practice (TTP) with Children and Families, followed by a practice application workshop focused on integrating learning and translating knowledge into practice.

The TTP workshop introduces the trauma-transformative practice paradigm, drawing on the constructs and dimensions outlined in The Handbook of Trauma Transformative Practice (Tucci, Mitchell, Porges, Tronick, 2024). Participants will explore the theoretical foundations of the model and examine how this paradigm can be meaningfully applied in work with children and families. The workshop concludes with a dedicated focus on practitioner wellbeing, self-care, and collective care, recognising these as essential components of sustainable, ethical practice.

Throughout the workshop, participants will:

• Review current understandings of neurobiology and the impacts of trauma—particularly relational abuse and violence—on children’s development and functioning.
• Consider the development of a trauma-transformative approach to relational therapeutic support.
• Unpack the key practice areas of trauma-transformative work, including neurobiology, relational safety, and meaning-making, woven throughout the training.
• Explore collaborative, participatory, and child-centred approaches to practice.
• Discuss decolonising practices and strengthen commitment to anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive ways of working.
• Recognise hope as a powerful and active resource in healing.
• Be supported to translate theory into practice, contextualising strategies for children, adults, and the broader systems that support them.

The subsequent practice application workshop builds on this foundation, creating space for deeper integration of concepts, reflection on practice, case application, and supported skill development to embed trauma-transformative principles into everyday professional work.
